I mentioned a couple days ago that we decided to invest in a new washer and dryer. The debate at the time was whether to go with gas or electric, and we opted for gas based on conversations with our friends. So today they were delivered and installed. The installation crew didn't mess around and in no time flat they were ready for testing. As it turns out, Ginny had lots of linens that needed washing so in the course of the day we probably did four loads. Our subjective analysis is that the gas dryer was much faster than what we were getting with our electric dryer. The washing machine worked as expected. So it would have to be considered a significant upgrade to the laundry room. How cool is that?

Today the refinished legs of our Steinway grand piano were returned and the piano was reassembled and put into place in the living room. Our old upright which got water damaged was taken away for repair. The Steinway has yet to undergo detailing and tuning. Even though we kept the piano covered, a lot of dust and grit descended upon it. In the nooks and crannies as well. It will be nice to get it put back to mint condition. Now, if I could just play the piano. I am looking forward to a visit from my daughter in law Christiane who is an excellent pianist.

Joke for the day. A fellow had a dog which delivered a litter of puppies. He named one of the puppies Liberace because he was the pianist. Think about it.

My sister is never wrong.
Just ask her.

I've always had gas dryers but my sister-in-law used to argue with me
that electric was faster. She was wrong, as usual.
