The KARKONOSZE (English: Giant Mountains; German: Riesengebirge) are a mountain range located in the north of the Czech Republic and the south-west of Poland, the highest and the best known range of the Sudety Mountains.
The highest peak, Mt. Sniezka, (German: Schneekoppe), has an elevation of 1,603 metres (5,259 ft).
