Wet Look: Black-capped Chickadee

Poecile atricapillus

Beckwith Township, Ontario, Canada

A look that everyone and everything is wearing these past few days.

A severe system that has stalled over the eastern portion of North America has brought unprecedented rainfall. Many areas are experiencing severe flooding.

My sump pumps are in full song; something that is normally reserved for the Spring thaw.

While humans (or most of us…I feel for those in the flooded areas) can seek shelter; the indigenous wildlife are collectively "enjoying" unsolicited showers, compliments of Ma Nature!

This poor Chickadee is definitely not looking too happy in its "wet look".

He's looking so forlorn - just like us.
