Unfortunately we could not locate a headstone for my grandfather due to the age of the cemetery. A lot of headstones are missing or crumbled. But it gave me satisfaction to have visited the cemetery where he is buried. The cemetery is 6.8 miles north of the Marathon gas station in Ohio, Illinois on Route 26. It is located in a stand of trees in the middle of a huge corn field and apparently the farmer keeps the grass path to the cemetery and inside the cemetery mowed with an American flag flying from a pole.
