This beauty of a mantel resides in an old summer estate home built in 1891.
I am the caretaker!
The panel was hand painted in 1976 by the daughter of the original owner.
It depicts our island downtown waterfront with arriving ferry.
Today the Maine State Ferry Service runs ferry trips three times a day to the mainland port of Rockland.
We schedule trips twice a month for provision shopping and appointments.
Ah island life!
