This is probably the first serious image I took as a photographer back in the late 1970's. My first camera was a Praktika LB2 and in order to get more versatility, I purchased a set of extension rings. These you screwed in between the camera lens and its body for close up work especially. We had an old clock in the house and I was so thrilled when this image was selected on my local photography club's panel for the first round of the National League. This was nothing to the thrill I got when as a novice photographer, it was chosen by the judges as the best slide of the competition on the night with a score of 19 out of 20. For that reason this image has always had an emotional pull on me.
