Rochester, NY

Rocco Stagnitto (left) with artist Henry Avignon. Rocco lost a son to heroin addiction and is leading an effort to clean up abandoned houses in Rochester. Rocco is heading up monthly sweeps where he and volunteers are picking up heroin needles, drugs, and debris. Rocco is leaving Naloxone kits to help save those experiencing an overdose. Rocco is bringing much needed attention to the devastation addiction brings by educating the community through media. Henry is posting his artwork on these houses to draw awareness to the scourge of addiction with his powerful images while beautifying the neighborhood. He is currently hanging 14 paintings on zombie homes to represent the Stations of the Cross. Rocco and Henry are working to bring much needed change to the blighted North Clinton area.

a fine tribute to two friendly looking fellows on a difficult mission... heavy street drugs, and overdoses, often due to fentanyl, are all too common in Vancouver as well..
