Red Geranium
by Liz Bickel

Metering Mode: Evaluative
EC: Negative 1 (-1)
Lighting Conditions: Natural Window Light; Cloudy Day

Other Shooting Factors:
Telephoto Zoom lens with 1.4x tele extender added
Out-of-the-camera image, filled the frame Top to Bottom
However, there was a very slight "aesthetic crop" off both left and right
The crop did not effect the size of the flower as you see it.
Hand held shot.

Subject size: Typical size for a geranium blossom

This bold, highly saturated shade of red can be very difficult for digital sensors to read without blowing out details.
However, negative EC usually corrects this problem inside the camera.
Digital sensors seem to also have the same difficulty with the same color intensity of yellows .

Canon EOS 7D Mark II ,Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM ,with 1.4x tele extender
1/160s f/14.0 at 420.0mm iso2000 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto
