Good to hear Doug is doing OK, Roy.
Haven't visited him in a long while so will make it a point to do so again soon.
For those classmates wishing to do the same, Doug is at the Care Center of Honolulu,
which is on Bachelot Street, just a block off of Kuakini Street near Kuakini Hospital,
with limited free on-site parking.
A belated Happy Valentine's Day to you too Gerri, and to all the sweethearts out there.
Below is a link to photos of the Liliha Bky get-together on the pbase website courtesy
As noted in the revised 'Upcoming Events' above, we got you covered Pam.
The reunion/get-together in May will be on the 13th for dinner at Natsunoya Tea House.
The reunion committee will be meeting next month to work on details for this event.
They will probably also work on details for the October reunion in Las Vegas.
Thanks for 'Words of Wisdom' Doug, always welcomed and appreciated.
Reminder again for the KHS Foundation fundraiser dinner on March 25th at 4:30PM.
Deadline for mail-in registration/payment is March 10th but registration/payment may
be made at the door on March 25th.

Went to visit Doug yesterday.
He is doing okay.
Talked about the class reunions in Las Vegas and here.
He is okay with classmates visiting him and would be nice if they could drop by.

subject: 2017 ROUND TABLE LUNCH/LAS VEGAS CHINESE NEW YEAR
Already it's Happy Valentine's Day soon Harold and dear friends.
After several months of respite during the Holidays we launched our Round Table Lunch
at the Nimitz Liliha Bakery across City Mill where a festive air prevailed with all the
chatting and smiles.
Great to see/talk w/ old pals, glad that Clifford Ching was in town and joined us.
This Liliha Bakery menu is pricier than the Liliha/Kuakini location(that is currently
being renovated & will have tables when completed), about double the prices however,
the portions are also generously double in size & yummy, many took their food home.
Norman Taylor and Carl Yasuda passed extra DVD copies out.
We toasted everyone for a safe wonderful coming 2017 of good health and happiness.
I returned last week from Las Vegas where friendly Doug Okada hosted Jack, me and
Richard Seichi to a tasty Japanese Buffet at the popular Makino Restaurant, what a feast.
Charming Richard looks great and we had a fun evening.
The Chinese New Year hotel displays at Las Vegas Belaggio, Palazzo, Venetian and
Wynn's Year of the Rooster was outstanding but the freezing 33 degrees temperature
was a killer!!! to say the least.
Dear Pals wishing all good health every blessing & happiness in the New Year and always
to you and yours.

Sorry about your challenging start to the new year!
It's always hard to see people close to you having problems as we feel it too.
Can you please convey to the 75th reunion cmte. that I'll be in Hawaii til May 20 so I would
appreciate it if they had this memorable event before the 20th so I could also attend.
If it's not possible, I understand.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the thoughts and words of encouragement Tim, much appreciated.
No fo'get, KHSF fundraiser dinner on Saturday, March 25th starting at 4:30P.
Though payment at the door is allowed I'd strongly recommend registering by mail
via the pdf form in the link below ( March 10th deadline for form ).
It's a first-come-first-served buffet and you never know when food will run low.
Part of the cost is tax deductible and it's a great bargain with food, entertainment,
door prizes, and silent auction.
The reunion committee met last week and I understand a sort-of reunion may be in
the works for sometime in May.
Sort-of meaning it will not likely be a full-blown reunion due to time constraints,
but more of a large get-together.
Several venues were mentioned and considered as possibilities: Hale Koa buffet,
Pearl Country Club buffet, Natsunoya Tea House buffet, Star of Honolulu dinner
cruise, Atlantis Adventure dinner cruise.
The reunion committee would appreciate your comments, concerns, questions, and
suggestions for other venues.
Save the date !

Pearl mentioned that the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas
had that date open at their banquet facilities.
I believe she has tentavively reserved that date for us and further details have to be
worked out on travel, accommodations, program, etc.
The committee will be meeting again soon to work on those details and for the

You have had a series of "challenges" with relatives and friends... never easy
but one does what one has to and gets through it... been there... done that.
With me it was caregiving for my Mother and two Aunties - Alzheimer, dementia,
Choy's Joy Luck Club - three Asian strong willed independent women having to
do what little Timmy says.
Mother went first, then within a year Aunty Dot and then the next year Aunty Stella..
wasn't easy but for all that they had done for me it was what one had to do....
