Some things make long work meetings more enjoyable.
What do people recommend as a small pocketable camera?
The camera in my phone is not very good in low light.

Motorola Moto G4
1/35s f/2.0 at 3.6mm iso500 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Fujifilm X100F is the best there is! I think I'm gonna buy it. (https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilm-x100f)

the right company makes all the difference...a pocket camera to consider is the Olympus TG-4...My compact TG-3 performs well in a range of conditions, with various shooting modes and lots of art options on tap too...the newer model is the TG-4, virtually the same camera but with the added capability of shooting in raw

Bill:

I use a Nikon V-1. Extremely versatile camera, but very poor in low light. See this linkhttp://www.pbase.com/buzzeo/image/151776116

Nice photo. We are getting to know this young lady.

Cheers,

David

Oops of course that should have been LUMIX ZS-40.

My :mix ZS-40 works well enough for me as a pocket stuffer.

Good portrait with DOF and a pleasant expression.

A lovely portrait, Bill!

Such a lovely smile in this great candid of Mika. I seem to be using my iPhone more instead of my real pocket camera, a Sony, which I don't particularly like.

I've just gone back to the Panasonic Lumix compact, this time the TZ80 with its 30x optical zoom and post photo sharpen ability.

I used to have (and probably still do, though I've no idea where it is now) an Olympus mju720. Water sealed, pretty decent optics, would fit in a jacket pocket easily enough, pants or shirt at a squeeze. The biggest down side was that it is mostly menu controlled (goes with the waterproofing I suppose) so you had to spend some time with it to get to know how to access the commands quickly. It did have a habit of kicking up the ISO into the stratosphere if you left it on full auto which as you can imagine did wonders for the image quality though even then it had some decent results. (Eg in my Ron Mueck gallery.) The spiritual heirs to those are the TG series. They're 11cm on the longest side so maybe a smidge larger than the old mju's but if I was in that market I'd certainly cast an eye over them.

Looks like the meeting was worthwhile Bill. I have an old Canon IXUS 95 IS for my pocket camera and does not to bad a job but there are much better out there now.
