Project Day 59 - Exile Day 9 - Today the sheet rockers were the star of the show. They had been here before when the garage was fixed in early January. Just like the insulators, these guys don't mess around. The entire kitchen had to be covered and a large wall in the living room.By the end of the day it was all done as far as the hanging is concerned. Tomorrow they will return to tape and float the whole thing. It is weird to no longer have studs showing everywhere.
In a parallel universe, the effort to get rid of stuff continues. There were two couches in the living that got water damaged. Our favorite charity here is Interfaith Caring Ministries. They will come and pick stuff up and are happy to get big items. When they arrived to pick up the couch, they said they could not take it because it had been in water and could have mold. I can understand that. The next step is Craig's List where Ginny will list it for free. After that it is to the curb to see if anybody takes it.
The sofa pictured today has been here a long time. I think we got it when we were living in Spartanburg, which would be more than 36 years. It is also a fold out bed. Over the years it has proven good for sleeping and for birthday party photos. It will be missed. The good news is that Ginny gets to exercise her well honed designer skills and pick out new sofas for the living room.
