This bridge is no longer in use except by pedestrians However it has now known far and wide because of the "Spitting off the Bridge" Society of Bastrop. The custom, borrowed from the old Andy Griffin show, the society gets together once a year and goes out to "spit off the bridge". I suspect their are other pedestrians who do the same.
