This is Long Lake where we are going to land on skis. The pilot made one pass over it to check it out, then another where he "landed" but kept up his speed and then took off again, then yet another to confirm that the weight of the plane did not break through any "overflow ice", and then after all that we headed in for our landing!

Note that Long Lake was picked because it also has a cabin alongside it in case of an emergency so we would have a place to stay!
