This image and the next two show how I set my exposure using "spot" metering. This one targeted the bird's white body... and it is too dark.

Canon EOS 80D ,Sigma 18-250 F3.5-6.3 DS OS HSM
1/500s f/6.3 at 155.0mm iso100 full exif

Yes, a touch dark. But it has retained the details in the whites which is a good thing. :)
