Marine Corps Air Station Miami at Masters Field

Thank you to Erik Simonsen for contributing this great old rare photo from the 1957 Air Show that was held at Masters Field. Erik says the T-33 was used to take up VIP's and the media and the F-100C Super Sabres in the background were the air show performance aircraft. This was the famous air show where Marine Corps Aviator John Glenn, then assigned as a staff member at Naval Air Test Center at Patuxent River, Maryland, flew the F8U-1P Crusader to thrill the air show crowd. Two years later he was selected as one of the first seven astronauts for the U. S. space program.
