I can't begin to explain how upset I was when I pulled this out of the sealed container that was under my house! Lets just say that it worked really well before it went under the house...

Yeah, it's been under the house for a few years. I had an issue with some of our Christmas ornament containers being flooded with water because I had everything alongside the wall where there was ventilation. Apparently rain water came in those vents. Since then I moved everything away from the walls that I didn't want getting wet.

Very sad...lol...I don't think silica would have helped this....how long was this under the house...it looks like some componets have actually melted...see left.

Looks like "Heavy Rust".
I assume you did not have a desiccant in the container.
