We have been on 'vacation' for a week in Palm Desert, California
Lots of new (for us) birds. This one was working a tree
adjacent to our patio.
Temps here in the 70 to 80 degree F range :)

Thanks very much Hal, Elaine, Sally, and Michael. Yes, Michael, the backlighting made for difficult exposures, but the tree itself saved the woodpecker image.

Beaurifully detailed andpositioned composition. The backlighting was pretty rough, but the image ssure doesn't show it. Very nicely captured.
