Coyote Creek

view map

This creek, in south San Jose, is now flowing due to the
release of water from Anderson Reservoir, the largest in the
Santa Clara Valley.

Due to concerns of the dam failing in the event of a major
earthquake, the resevoir was to be kept at 68% of capacity.
But with the constant rains, it is now near full.

Apparently the giant outlet pipe has been fully open since Jan 9.

We'll hope for the best for this dam and the one in Oroville.

Looks like you are getting lots, if not too much, water now Bryan.

Amazing that it's been a full release for over a month.. Sever drought then too much water. Nice capture. Thanks for the BG info.

Wow that's not the best situation to be in...

ironic that a California reservoir would be releasing water...that is apparently having a significant impact..strong and flowing image..

Interesting documentary shot of this creek. The half submerged palms five an idea of how far it's gone over its banks.
18th Day of rain here so far this year. Crazy stuff!
