I fabricated and welded up lots of wood stoves in my Welding Shop. Back in the 80s when people started burning wood I couldn't build stoves fast enough. Put fire brick in the bottom and up the sides about 12 to 14 inches. Where the logs would lay on and against the side. They burn wood and put out heat great.
