This beautiful, adult Red-shouldered Hawk was in a tree near the far parking lot of the park, adjacent to Permanente Creek.

The hawk responded to a call from a distant Red-shouldered Hawk.

It gives me a funny feeling when a hawk looks directly at me like this. It makes me glad I'm too big to be dinner.
