The 'Angelfish Nebula', Sh2-264 in Orion

This nebula is huge, but rather faint, found surrounding Lambda Orionis, north of the red giant Betelgeuse and Gamma Orionis.

Astro-modded EOS 600D,Carl Zeiss Jena 135mm f/3.5 Sonnar M42
19 x 4-min exposures, ISO 1600, f/4. Camera piggybacked on a Celestron C8 telescope for tracking.
Images registered and stacked using Deep Sky Stacker software. Initial curves adjusted in Canon Photo Professional; final curves & colour-balance adjusted using Paint Shop Pro;
noise reduction via CyberLink PhotoDirector. full exif
