Grendel

At home

Grendel came from the SPCA several years ago, and was said to be a Norwegian Forest Cat. Never having heard of the breed before, I did some checking and he certainly does seem to fit the bill. He is LARGE! He has very furry feet (like a Hobbit), his coat is unlike that of any cat I've had before, and his personality seems to fit the profile too: laid back, independent, fearless. Apparently Norwegian Forest Cats are related to Maine Coon Cats, which is easy to see, though Grendel lacks the ear tufts (like a Bobcat has).

Such a beautiful cat! When I first saw this I though he might be a Maine Coon, but Norwegian Forest cat fits him better. V

Beautiful eyes and love those whiskers too - certainly has a full coat of hair. All in all a lovely looking cat.

What a great portrait of Grendel, who does look pretty formidable. Not somebody I'd mess with on a dark night, anyway. V.
