In a garden, and no, I didn’t artificially colour this image.
Flame Tree (Brachychiton acerifolius) is native to rainforests in this region.
It is also fairly widely planted in gardens and does well even in somewhat drier areas such as here.
Flame Tree drops its leaves late in the dry season, burst into flower while leafless, then promptly flushes a new set of leaves. You can see the early stages of leaf flush in this image.
