Red-tailed Hawk (Immature)

Warrenton, Virginia

This juvenile stayed perched in a Maple tree very close to our sunflower seed feeders watching several squirrels ground feeding on spilled sunflower seeds.
Took several shots through a stormdoor safetygalss before venturing out into our front lawn for several more shots with Leica's D-LUX 4 and X2 Point-and-Shoot mirrowless cameras.
If you're in my 'Hawks' gallery, click on the two 'previous' for two different viewing perspectives of this same Red-tail.
Best viewed in 'original' size.

That hawk looks like he means business. I wouldn't want to be a small mammal in his neighborhood.
