Tojinbo in Fukui Prefecture is famous less for beauty, though its towering seaside cliffs are very beautiful, than for suicide. In the worst of times, some 25 people a year come here to end their lives.

In Australia there is "THE GAP" at Watson Bay NSW, boasting the most fantastic views of Sydney City and yet it has been the place where people chose to jump off. I once photographed a driver's license of a young woman. She must have dropped it there before jumping off? The license showed that she had the same birthday as that of mine. In Vietnam once there was an expression:"It is so beautiful that I want to kill myself for it". In a Chinese classical kung-fu novel that I read: A most beautiful woman who seemed to suffer from depression. She went out and threw herself at a most unhygienic beggar in town and fell pregnant to that man. So another paradox of life, ladies and gentlemen. SO BEAUTIFUL and yet SO DEADLY and SO SILLY!!!
