These Monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery were here locally to create a sand mandala. The lesson is that nothing, no matter how valuable or beautiful, will last forever. So they created this mandala one grain of sand at a time over 4 days and then during a ceremony on Saturday destroyed it, put sand in little packets for visitors, and then during a second ceremony dumped the rest of the sand in a local creek. This shows four of the monks adding some of the final portions of the mandala.
