Apologies in advance if you have received this in error. if so, please inform me to be removed from the list.
If you don't recognize some of the names of the classmates below, well...
that's what yearbooks and reunions are for :
( KHS '60 & '61 reunion pics )

Please pass this email on to other classmates.
I'd like to keep this going, adding their responses to this list or one of yours...
as a reminder that hopefully for all of us, we have many years ahead to reunite again.

Got an email from Warren Imada, KHS class of '61, re: a headsup on another free
concert by the Honolulu Wind Ensemble of which Warren is a member/performer.
Great music to listen to and the price is great too.

As per email(s) with Muriel, a few of us still have Norman's DVD copies on hand to
pass on to those who may not have received one yet.
If you see or run into any one of us, please don't hesitate to tap on our shoulder and
ask for a copy... on second thought, call out for our attention first, taps on the
shoulder these days could mean a variety of other things.

Below is the list of recipients thus far, I know I've probably missed a few names.
If you requested a DVD copy and have yet to receive it, please contact either myself,

Glad you're enjoying the DVD Amy and Robert.
Don't forget, all of this wouldn't be possible without Norman's generosity
with the DVD copies, Slug's donation, all the others helping to pass out
copies by hand, and Carl.

How cool is that Tremaine... like having your own flight crew in the family.

It's definitely not too late Arlene, in fact according to Carl, your copy should
be on it's way to you right now.
If my quick calculations are correct, there should be at least several dozen
more DVD copies available to any other classmate(s) wanting one.
If you or any classmate you know is still without one and want one, let us know.

Great Bing, I know you and Hank will really enjoy the music and memories.

I will soon be on hiatus from the blog for a while, but keep those emails coming
for the next blog hopefully in a few short weeks.
I'll also pass on any DVD copy requests when I'm able to.

I wouldn't worry about it, in fact I'd suggest just holding on to the DVDs and
passing them out as you're able to.
I still have a handful left from the 25 that I got from Carl and will do the same.
Gerri also got 25 to hand out.
I gave Jean Inouye Uwaine 8 copies and 2 or 3 to Frances Takasaki Nakamura
for them to pass out.
There were several others who others who requested a couple of copies to
pass on.
Anyway, just stay on your side of the island as I'm already running out of
classmates to pass copies on to.
BTW, if you haven't already found out, Brad and Ginny already have a copy as
does Marj.

On Sun, Oct 9, 2016 at 12:09 PM, Muriel Masumura

I picked up 25 DVDs from Carl so I could distribute to those requestors
living on this side of the island. Karen Fukuji already has one, and I was
thinking of delivering to Marge, Brad and Ginny.
I will make a monetary donation to the reunion fund for any left overs.

Thanks, MURIEL…

Many thanks for the promptness in sending the DVDs that I ordered. I truly
loved hearing most of the songs on the DVDs.
All I need now is to find a way to listen to it in my car hopefully as the DVDs
is to long.

Hi Harold! Just thought I'd stick my nose in.
My permanent address is dear Waimanalo but I also live on Volcano, HI and
Tucson, AZ.. planning on getting a place in Vegas also... IDK yet?
Depends on my sweet spouse.
We like to travel a lot since my husband is a retired pilot from Hawaiian
Airlines and my oldest son who has retired thirty years as a Naval Aviator
Captain Kimo Lee, is now a freshly hired FO at Delta Airlines.
How blessed can one be?

Thanks Gerri, sounds really good, they were promising a different and
better experience before they opened... looks like they really delivered.

Good to hear Irene, I know you'll really enjoy the music thanks to Norman,
Carl, and the others.

As I mentioned before Alvin, Carl has been exemplary with the mailings.

Gerri, both Elsie and Douglas should have received their copies by now,
and thanks for the offer but it looks like everyone's covered so far.

Yes Pat, they did put in a lot of work with the DVD copies.
Mahalo again to Norman for his super generous offer, to Carl for his
tireless mailing effort, to Slug for his donation, and to all who helped
with distribution.

Amy and Bing, you both should have also received your copies by now.
Let us know if otherwise or even if you have received it.

Gerri, I understand Doug is doing OK and doing better than any of us
could what with his situation.
He is such an amazing and inspirational person.
As Brenda mentioned, they are there for the Ohana... the exciting locale
ain't bad either.

Mahalo for the update on the growing DVD gift list.
Aside from this may I pass on a Hot Tip for the latest lunch spot.
Quality food at reasonable prices that I find are below Makai Market items.
The new Ala Moana Foodland is indeed an exceptional incredible food buffet
that apparently is competing with Whole Foods.
The popular poke bowl with hot rice @ $6.00 plus other variety of seafood
goodies had long lines that moved quickly, a winner!
Its a beautiful well organized store.
For quality Meat Lovers, I adore what looks like a gold mine, the HI Steak
restaurant located on makai side of store that sells tasty Angus broiled
steak (my generous steak lunch consisted of nicely seasoned sliced steak
on hot rice w/furikake with choice of greens or Asian potato salad w/cucumber,
choice of sauces, I had garlic butter) for $11.99.
Jack had a huge thick hamburger patty with everything plus french fries and
a drink for $9.00.
Also good, a generous broiled cut ' steak over greens for $8.99.
Extensive steak menu combined with broiled teriyaki chicken, garlic shrimp
combos, quite unreal.
I can't even cover the great menu variety of offerings, i.e. beef curry, curry steak,
meat loaf, steak and eggs.
Its very busy but the turnover on the table is quick.
If you buy food at the buffet and deli counter, you must use the tables/chairs at
HI Steak area only.
Great take-out place.
There are restrooms nearby.
Handi-cap and 10 min pick-up parking in front.
Busy parking with people coming and going so shouldn't be a problem.
Don't see how Nordstrom's and Bloomingdales restaurants can complete with
this fantastic dining being offered by Foodland.
With the quality delicious food, friendly expedient service many locals esp. seniors
have discovered this with it's great prices.
Give it a go, we don't think you will regret this.

Bon Appetit,
Gerri BD
