A beautiful, misty fall day here.
It is still quite mild, and it has been raining off and on, but is mostly
just, well, beautiful and misty. :-)
When I went out to take this picture, the back yard was full of birdsong, and
a choir of Red-winged Blackbirds had congregated in the trees nearby.
Every so often off in the distance came a deep growl of thunder, mingling with
the singing of all the different kinds of birds.
By the time I came in, the first raindrops were falling.
Less than two hours to game time... It all feels a little unreal right now.
But no matter. Let's get this done.
GO CUBS GO!!!
(By the way, the heart in the tree is 100% real - that Japanese maple (virides) has never before
turned that deep red color anywhere; usually it's a gorgeous orange flame that glows like gold.
It just started getting really defined in the last couple of days.)
