" . . . food for worms, lads . . . "
Editors, Western Reserve University - 1897
Case School of Applied Science
I shot this image today from an old book I found in my garage.
Out of curiosity I selected one student from this photo and did some research.
The student on the far left is Harry William Springsteen. He later became an esteemed professor of Physics at the university and stayed there until his retirement in 1945.
He actually changed his name to Harry William Mountcastle in 1918.
I'm trying to find an obituary and will update this if successful.
Why did I do this? I'm prompted by the "Carpe Diem" scene from the movie "Dead Poets Society" with Robin Williams.
If you have seen this movie you will recall exactly what I'm talking about.
"Make your lives extraordinary."
(Photographer's Note: Look at the hands. At least three of these students are showing a sign.)
