Wipe that egg off your face! Because you were right ... there are a lot of "good" mirror lenses out there at very cheap/reasonable prices ... it's just that the "mirror" design is very limiting. In this case, having the name "Nikon" on the lens probably doubled the cost of the lens, but not necessarily the quality of the images made with it. - Ken
