She took the empty coffee pot into the house and
when she rinsed out the pot she noticed the water
wasn't going on so she turned on the garbage disposal
and heard a loud racket so she turned it off real quick
and put her hand down in it to pick out some now broken
up trinket that had fallen off the window in front of
the sink! She came back out to the craft room and
and sat down before realizing she put this on.

I think it's a guard to keep stuff flying out.
