Well, I obviously need to work on my astrophotography.

But, I "discovered" the M31 Andromeda Galaxy last night while looking at and shooting some stars.
I had no idea it was visible without a telescope, let alone where to look for it! Here's another shot from the previous night detailing the location.



A friend of a friend provided this amazing info on my Facebook post last night:

It is the farthest object that any human can see with the naked eye, and our closest neighbor galaxy in space;
2.5 million light years away. It is the ONLY object that anyone can see with the naked eye that is NOT in our Milky Way.

OK, which of those points of light is Andromeda? I wonder if someone on a planet orbiting a star in the
Andromeda Galaxy is pointing a telescope are way and thinking the same thing.
