Solidarity

Vancouver, BC

A homeless man plays with his dog in the late afternoon sun. This scene really struck a chord with me. There are many, many homeless people in Vancouver these days; I guess same as everywhere. More and more though I see both men and women with a constant companion to share in the hard times. I observed them for a long time, just seemed like they didn't have a care in the world when probably the opposite was true.

Very dramatic and very hard hitting. An excellent illustration of the lighter side of this unfortunate situation. ~BV~

Une composition remarquable, un regard brillant qui transforme du quotidien en image de référence. Digne des n&b des années 60-70

Looking at the image brings a feeling of a wonderful late afternoon stroll in the park but your commentary
really brings home the reality.

Splendid candid in B&W, Carol. The long shadows and the city in very high key works beautifully together. Vote.

Such a strong scene. The shadows add a magical mood. Homelessness is such a monumental problem. Mental illness and addiction exacerbate a seemingly hopeless situation. V

I love how the tree and it's shadow branch out and reach in many different directions. What a beautiful yet poignant scene especially knowing this person is homeless. Thoughtfully photographed, Carol!

Nice capture of a very sad situation. We have the same here in the USA. What I can't and never will understand
is why we can give away so much money to other counties but we can't help our own!!!
