one more glance at this award winning building...although based on BC native structures, evidently architect Arthur Erickson was also influenced by the style of Japanese Shinto temples

An interesting looking place. I like the red highlights but what really pulled me into the photo was the "skull" looking piece of wood in the foreground. Fantastic composition! V

Excellent capture and interesting observation. I can see where he might have been influenced by the multiple gates outside some temples, but not the temples themselves.

The Japanese influence is quite noticeable here. I like the repeating patterns and you composition with the wood in the foreground as a contrast. Works well! "V"
