Lübeck. St. Jakobi

The large organ in the west gallery is from the year 1466. After several renovations and expansions it now has 62 registers, four manuals.
In St. Jakobi are the last three historic organs of Lübeck with rich original pipes stock. In its union of style elements of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque they are by far the most important tools in a wide radius, yes, they are among the most interesting organs at all. Its oldest parts today's major works, from the years 1466 and 1467 are Gothic art, of which there are very few worldwide. (The large Lübeck Marie organs fell victim to the flames in 1942.)
