The Three Pilchards, built in the early 16th Century by the harbour. Said to be named after the three pilchard factories that were in this fishing village, by two Italian brothers in Polperro who exported pilchards to their home country. While they stayed at this inn they ate pilchards from each of the three factories, in order to decide the best ones to ship to Italy.
