Back Lit Feather
by Laura Milholland

This morning while taking a short walk at the pond, I saw this feather stuck in a plant's branches.
I positioned myself so the feather was between me and the sun, which was glistening off the water of one of the ponds.
I really liked the back lighting and the somewhat unusual bokeh.
This looks B/W but was taken in color.

I love this. I would print this out and put it up on the wall - that's how beautiful it is. I love the simplicity of it, the sharpness of the stick and the feather and even the spider web. I also love the backlighting you managed to get. Excellent job!

Interesting and minimalistic. Unique bokeh. The circles are neither round nor hexagon. Well composed main subject.

Cool... Backlighting is an interesting thing and done well in this photo.

Is this a fluffy down feather? Beautifully photographed, complete with the spiderweb.
Bokeh IS unusual.
