Today was mostly a re-positioning day. We drove about 400 miles from Moab to Pocatello, Idaho. Along the way we passed through Green River, Utah. There is a small museum there which is mostly about John Wesley Powell. For those of you who want to know, John Wesley Powell led a river expedition down the Green River and the Colorado River through the grand canyon in 1869. He was the first to do that. This is a replica of a boat that was used on the expedition. It is a far cry from the big rubber rafts that are used these days.

Interesting side note: He was a professor of geology at Illinois Wesleyan University. That is located in Bloomington, Illinois, the town I was born in.

I have seen waves on the Thames big enough to swamp that little boat.
I think there might have been a little bit of luck to bolster their bravery.

It was definitely down the river.
The challenge was the many sets of rapids.

Was the trip up or down the river.
With or against the flow.
