Internationales Maritimes Museum Hamburg

The world's largest private collection of maritime treasures have found a new home in Kaispeicher B (quayside store B). The exhibition opened in 2007 in the historical Speicherstadt and is a must for all fans of model ships, U-boats and military history.Maritime Museum and Hamburg – They clearly belong together. The International Maritime Museum Hamburg tells the stories of explorers and conquerors, captains and simple seafarers, and it offers an expedition through 3,000 years of human history.In the historic building of Kaispeicher B in the Speicherstadt, Prof. Peter Tamm presents a lovingly assembled collection. Over several decades, Professor Peter Tamm senior has collected around 26,000 ship models, 50,000 construction plans, 5,000 paintings and graphics, more than 2,000 films, 1.5 million photos, 120,000 books and numerous nautical devices, historic uniforms, militaria and maritime objects.
