Wombat

This poor little guy was one of several victims we saw over a 200km stretch of road. In all our years of travel we have never seen this before and wonder why. Kangaroos are regularly killed as they jump from one green roadside to another...but these scenes were sad. We saw at least 20 of them and they are not small, but are very slow to move.

Sad scene, and very common sight in the USA.
And there is not much that can be done, we take
away there habitat a little bit at a time.
You made a great point with your image.

So sad to see this. Saw a bit of this in Tasmania, last year.

Sad to see roadkill, especially for these little creatures.

Oh too bad. I wonder if there was something going on in their environment that caused them to move?

Poor little chap :( but here in the UK countryside it seems to be almost taken as 'sport'. They probably justify it to themselves as pest control, but really it's just plain and simple cruelty.

Oh no, this is really sad. I wonder why so many were road kills on that particular stretch? Very, very sad, as this is a high mortality rate I would think.
