This time of year the Milky Way is directly overhead in Australia after dark and starts to set in the west around midnight. This shot was taken around 11pm and it was very cold and a bit windy. A little gas heater helped but not much!
I was hoping to catch an atmospheric sprite in the image as there was a long distance thunderstorm to the left of the image but alas it was not to be.
The Loxia 21 again impressed me with its lack of distortion and coma. Images like this typically distort the stars along the top above the Milky Way but not very much with the Loxia as the distortion level is very very low.
