Wave of the future?

Is this the wave of the future? I almost fell over when I had to go get a combination to use the rest room at a coffee shop in Old Town Portland. I have heard of a key being used at some places, but never anything this elaborate.

There are keys everywhere here, but never seen a combo lock like that.

That does seem extreme. I hope it doesn't catch on! V

Our doctors medical centre has these for male and female customers. combination changed each day and printed on a slip of paper. Beats returning the keys and facilities are not abused.

Maybe it's a west coast thing? It's common in many buildings here. Although the term WC seems quite outdated!

Beats having to carry a penny with you :)

That is unusual. I hope no one has to hurry.
