Sulphur-crested Cockatoo

Not as sharp as I’d like, but I thought it interesting to see this cockatoo using a foot to help it feed.
It is extracting hard seeds from the pods (visible on tree as well) of Burra (Acacia falcata) that I grew from seed and planted in my back yard.
Pale-headed Rosellas and King Parrots also eat these seeds in my back yard.

We have a flock of them on our property at the moment, going through the
bird seed a lot faster than our normal group of feathered friends.
Their strong beaks can bite through almost anything, including wooden window frames,
balcony railings etc. Your tree looks great Don..

Looks sharp to me!A sweet result from seeding, growing, feeding your neighborhood birds. Quite the agile balancing act for this fine cockatoo.
