The trees in the distance across the lake appear to "float" above the lake surface
The 1900 km Canning Stock Route takes travellers through harsh and remote desert country, from Wiluna north to Billiluna, with very little in the way of fuel and supplies available along the way. The spectacular landscapes and history of the region appeal to modern-day adventurers, many of whom choose to camp at the old well sites. This is some of the most isolated and desolate country in Australia, and although water should be available en route at some of the wells, bring a supply of your own as well as firewood, a gas/fuel stove and a detailed route description. You need to be self-sufficient, well-prepared and well-equipped, with fuel supplies arranged well in advance. Note: the Canning Stock Route is not suited to camper trailers, and some sections of the route require a permit
