In the skyline of downtown Turin, immediately this bell tower attracts attention, because it is the only city Romanesque bell tower. Actually the bell tower of the Church of the Consolata, is the only evidence of the Romanesque style in the city. It was built in the tenth century, next to the church of Sant'Andrea, on the northern edge of the Roman city walls. Then the church was rebuilt and modified several times, until it assumed today's baroque appearance, which has little to do with the severity of the Romanesque bell tower, detached from the current religious building. A distance of style and ages that the physical separation highlights, without creating disharmony.
