It is one of the historical squares of the city, surrounded by Baroque architectures. In the middle you can admire a statue dedicated to Gioberti. The square was opened during the development of Turin wanted by Vittorio Amedeo I of Savoy. Later, when Savoy family inherited the subalpine throne, Carignano palace and the square became scenery of the events part of the history of the Unified Italy: from the balcony it was announced the signature of the Albertine Statute.
