For centuries the Uros Indians have been living on the reeds of Lake Titicaca.
At 12,555ft above sea level, Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world.
(It is 100 miles long and 1,000 feet deep at the deepest point.)
The Uros rarely leave the lake and live off of the fish and birds of the lake,
and since the reeds are floating, they rise and fall with the fluctuations of the
lake's water levels.
