Also known as Moray Eels, Dragon Moray Eel, Dragon Eel, Leopard Moray Eel, Leopard Moray, Hawaiian Dragon Eel and Japanese Dragon Eel.
Found singly on coral and rocky reefs with head poking out of coral and crevasses in outer reefs.
They feed nocturnally on fish.

Depth - 8-60m
Widespread Indo-pacific

Morays open and close their mouths to move water through their gills for respiration.
This behaviour can often be seen as a threat especially towards divers, in fact this is far from the truth, they are very shy creatures and will only attack if provoked!
