Stearman Built Plane for Texaco

Stearman was the early company that made Wichita the air capital of the country. Up to a few years ago we had factories of Boeing, Cessna, Beech, Learjet, and Airbus in Wichita. That's what brought me here 37 years ago.

A wonderful old bi-plane. It was Stearman and Boeing aircraft pioneers that brought a lot of prosperity here and in my hometown, Seattle. V

Interesting picture and information. I assume they fitted the wings after positioning the plane, rather than build the pillars afterwards...
