V is for Weather Vane

It seems to me that there is a part missing, the one that would catch the wind. But, it is the only example of a weather vane that I could find in my area.

Nice catch....perhaps rooster (or whatever) that used to sit on top just flew away in a really bad storm?

Oh, I see what you mean. No ornamentation to catch the wind other than the direction letters themselves. Still a nice find and well shot.
